Stephen Colbert’s anti-Trump comments on “The Late Show” Monday night ignited a firestorm with conservatives accusing him of crossing the line. The backlash was immediate on social media as #FireColbert became a trending topic and some saw it as homophobic. Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff told Fox News: “I thought it was obscene, lewd, inappropriate.” During his opening monologue Wednesday, Colbert walked out and asked his crowd: “Am I still the host?” Colbert did address critics who accused his rant of being homophobic.
