Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was forced to cancel a campaign rally at the University of Illinois Chicago Pavilion, Friday, due to security concerns after thousands of protesters packed the arena and fights and scuffles broke out between protesters and Trump supporters.
A member of Trump’s campaign staff took to the stage and announced that “tonight’s rally will be postponed.” The announcement was met by a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd with anti-Trump protesters breaking into chants of “We stopped Trump, we stopped Trump” and Trump supporters chanting “We want Trump, we want Trump.”
A Trump rally in St. Louis, Missouri, also ended in violent clashes between protesters and Trump supporters on Friday, leading to 32 arrests including a third-degree assault charge.
